Optimisation of rheological parameters and mechanical properties of Engineered Cementitious Composites (ECC) using regression-based models

Engineered Cementitious Composites (ECC) have superior mechanical and durability performance than conventional concrete. One of the major challenges producing ECC is to ensure appropriate rheology for uniform fibre distribution, which prerequisite its strain-hardening robustness. In this study, combined interactive effects polycarboxylate-based superplasticisers (SP) viscosity modifying admixtures (VMA) on rheological behaviour were systematically investigated. The evolution trends yield stress plastic characterised in detail with a rheometer. most desirable range condition distribution was identified optimal SP-VMA combinations predicted by regression modelling. Results showed that produced optimised dosages SP VMA exhibited 200% enhancement deflection under four-point bending. This study provides effective guidance control optimisation materials could further benefit more extensive development applications.
